What Seang and I are trying to do is get a sip client that will work with Astrisk and integrate with the PBX at work. I have the astrisk server running and can use ip hard phones to connect, but I would like to make my work cell phone a "dual mode" phone.

Yep, not a problem. SJPhone is what you're looking for. It is a great SIP softphone for PPC that is free: http://www.sjlabs.com/sjp.html (the direct link to the WM5/WM6 working version is: http://www.sjphone.org/preview/SJpho...wsCE(preview)/ )

Another alternative which is a commercial piece of software is Counterpath's XTEN softphone for PPC which is located at: www.counterpath.com I think it is $50.

i downloaded the cab for wm5. before i install, can this run from a memory card?

from my understanding there are no soft phone apps out there or apps like skype and fring that allow you to use the internal speaker. Am I correct? The hope with WM6 is that this issue would be fixed.

The only fix I saw was using Shapeservices' IM+ for Skype, but I can't say it's true VOIP calling. It doesn't use an active data connection for the call. Only use this software with unlimited skype calling. It basically routes the call through ur number and calls you back through your skype number, therefore incurring double the airtime. Once you answer the call it'll also count towards your carrier's minutes.

btw, has anyone seen this article before? http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=124

SJPhone allows you use the internal speaker (the one normally used while on a phone call) and the mic.

As for installing on a micro SD card.. I'm not sure, I've never tried it.

tried SJPhone, and find it's a nifty piece of work. I'm gonna go ahead and guess no, but has anyone been able to use SJPhone with skype?

{SOLVED} How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6.

WM6 does have a built in SIP client, I use it on my jasjar and have it connected to my asterisk box. I haven't been able to get the SIP client to even initiate on CDMA devices. On my GSM devices I don't have a problem but the CDMA devices are not working which sucks because Rev A is coming very soon.
