WM6 Internet Sharing works w/Bluetooth only not USB

This is very strange. I just reflashed to WM6 but I can only tether via bluetooth.
Even over bluetooth I had to manually assign DNS servers. (Some people suggested this for speed anyway)

Tethering over USB fails to get an IP address.
Just for kicks I manually assign an IP address but it doesn't work either.
Sometimes I'm just out of juce on my PPC & this is the only way I can keep it alive.
I tried searching many places without much luck.

EDIT:
I just wanted to add that I am running Windows Vista with mobile device center v6.1.6965
I have SprintPCS & I tried both Sprint PCS & Phone As Modem yet I can't get an IP address with USB

I have a similar issue where I can't get Internet Sharing to work at all, I haven't tried the bluetooth fix quoted else where but usb is just major no go for what I've gotten so far

That's strange, it worked perfectly for me right out of install. What carrier are you using, and which Internet Sharing program?

I have not tried BT sharing but will do so now. I use Sprint and have not been able to get Internet Sharing to work at all. The Winmodem tries to work but since the phone shows up as something different I have not taken the time to try to find the modem drivers for vista...

sprint and the Internet Sharing program included in the wm6 sprint rom

i have verizon and have had the same issue of not getting an IP. I'll try the bluetooth to see how that goes...

Do you have it set to Sprint PCS or Phone As Modem? It worked for me when set to SprintPCS. Haven't tried with "Phone as Modem" though. I just hit connect, plugged in the cable, and it connected up without a hitch. This was on a WinXP machine running ActiveSync 4.5.

I am also using Vista and have tried both Sprint and Phone as Modem... No workieworkie. It never gets an ip address (goes to 169.address) and nothing will route out past the phone...

I can confirm that it works on Vista using the bluetooth option as I am posting this via my 6700.... very odd that this part works. It was the opposite with the first 3.5 roms with Internet Sharing in them... USB worked like a champ and BT didnt...

Hi guys, I had the same issue.
I fixed it by turning off bluetooth before activating internet sharing over usb....
