HTC Apache on Cricket
Hi
I am in a bit of a rush for work, so I haven't had a chance to find the answer to this question if it exists through the forum search. I am looking to buy a XV6700 verizon version of this phone off ebay. I however am planning to use this phone on Cricket wireless. I also would like to install WM6 on the phone. I got very excited when I saw that WM6 was released for this phone, and also there was a Cricket version of the download from this site. My question is, do I need to get the phone re-flashed to make it work with cricket before I install the WM6 cricket specific update, or does that update turn the phone from a verizon phone into a cricket phone? I hope that makes sense Lawrence |
You will need to actually convert the phone over to cricket's service first (load PRL, program your phone number, etc.). There are instructions for that over at howardforums.com (cricket forum) and probably other places online.
Once you have it set to make and receive phone calls, then proceed to flash it with the cricket version of WM6. You may still have to do some work to make internet access and mms work, as it seems cricket has things set up differently in differerent parts of the US. |
