I See allot of people asking questions about miniSD card and starting new topics. I would tell them to search but I even tried and it bring up allot of off-topic posts. So if you bored and willing to answer a few question's. So Current/future users will Have one post to get the answer to there question's. Made in Taiwan Some guy from Hong Kong on e-bay. The package says "Wong Shuk Hing" which could be the store. Had it for 1 year so far. Edit: Hehe. I just googled Wong Shuk Hing to see if I could find the shop again, but somebody must have gotten a bad deal and decided to post the guy as a bad seller everywhere they could think of. |
I have a 2GB A-Data card that I got from newegg over a year ago. Had to get a usb reader for it though, because trying to fill 2GB using the phone takes an eternity.

KidGixxer, I have the same 4gb mini card but I can't get my XV6700 to recognize it. In fact, my desktop won't recognize it either. Did you have to do any thing to the card to get it to work?

I have a 2 Gig Micro Center Branded card from Micro Center and have used it about 6 months... No data corruption problems... (I run ChkDsk on it once and a while via WM5torage, and the only problems I've had are related to doing a Soft Reset during an I/O operation...)

4gb QMemory non-SDHC card. Formatted in fat16 in order for my phone to recognize it.
It was around 30 bucks after the rebates.. Other card is a 2gb Transcend purchased from Newegg.com for like 14 bucks. Never had to format it to get it to work properly. Both cards work like a charm :) Next up I'm getting a Spectec miniSD GPS module with a built in microSD slot so I can use microSD's! (Whenever they finally release the GPS module that is...I've been patiently waiting.) |
that gps module looks freakin sweet. too bad i dont need it... or do i?
I am currently using a sandisk 1gb mini-sd, had it for about a year and a half, works great. Just ordered a 4gig from mobilemem on ebay, cause i saw that someone else had a card from there that worked. just trying to get rid of my ipod, i dont need it when i have a card that big and all the things that come with the 6700. |
I'm using a Transcend 2GB.
Got it on ebay. Had it for one year. I bought two, but one has ended up in my camera. I also owned a 4GB Transcend SD card that I used in my PPC6600. Both cards have worked flawlessly, but it's irritating that my laptop card reader doesn't recognize them. |
that does look pretty cool, but would it even work on our 6700's? Do our 6700's support sdio?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but has anyone tried the 4gb MICRO-SD (non SDHC) cards like the one in this auction? I would rather go MICRO if it would work in the 6700.

MicroSD doesn't work with the 6700...you'd have to use an adapter to convert microSD -> miniSD... Although there's a miniSD card that I've seen that has a slot for a microSD. (Give you the option of having two memory cards in one phone.)

If you have the microSD to miniSD adapter, yeppers it works. Buy the ebay link you have is just a microSD to SD. Which will not work unfortunately.
If I can find the microSD to miniSD adapter product page I'll post it. I haven't seen it in a while though. |
I just grabbed a cheap 2gig PQI card from www.pricewatch.com it's been working fine enough for me for 2 months now

Sounds like an awesome idea! But yeah it should work because the connectors would all be lined up. And since it's a non-sdhc card you don't have to worry about that :)
Definitely let us know though! I'll be watching this thread. (I'm wanting to switch over to using microSD rather than miniSD). |
I've gone through a few:
512 MB - Danelectric(?) from Target - no problems over 9 mos, but I rarely use it now 2 GB Patriot from Fry's - have 2 of these, one for 7 mos., one I just got today. 2 GB PQI from Fry's - have one of these, returned it for hanging when playing video or music, got a replacement that seemed to wok for a while then crapped out I would avoid these if possible 4 GB SDHC by Transcend from Newegg - lots of problems using this one :) - waiting to see if WM6 makes it work |
while i'm skeptical that the SDHC drivers are included in the WM6 upgrade, i'm interested in the way the phone reacts to SDHC when inserted.

I'm skeptical as well, but to be honest if they ever became available it would pretty much make my day. Especially with those 8, 16, and now 32gb cards that are out. I already use mine as a personal media player, but if I could use larger cards, it just encourages me to do more.
