why wont a new dialer work?

Ok i recently flashed using Phoenx06 Sprint/Verizon C&S 1.0.4 ROM ... now when i try to install a seperate dialer, it makes the screen all white and cant view any of the buttons. Anyone have an idea how to use a dialer other than the one that installs with this rom?

It would be nice to have something like the Eten dialers with the larger caller ID pictures.
