Any way to delay appointment notices during boot up?

Sometimes my phone loses power before an apointment and when it comes back on the first thing it wants to do is tell me about the appointment. Which sounds fine except for that the phone often freezes or locks up.

So I'd like to delay the notification for a minute or two after boot up. There's no appointment that's going to be effected by a 1 or 2 minute delay.

I assume the notification is sent by pocket outlook... so perhaps delaying it's execution would help?
