Gas Mileage App type thingy
I've come up with a way to use Excel and the files sync to easily record gas data on my phone. When i connect it to the computer i've got lots of statistics that it will pull from the data in the file on the phone. Would anyone be interested in this? I would just post it, but writing directions on how to make it work would take some time that wouldn't be worth it if nobody was interested. Let me know, if there's even some interest I'll write up some directions on how to do it sometime this weekend.

Interested!
Yes I would be. I do alot of traveling to/from work and having an easy way input/track this info would be greatly appreciated.

I set up an excel spreadsheet which may be similar to yours. I set up columns for:
1. Date 2. Miles (on tripodometer) 3. gallons pumped 4. MPG (formula for col2 / col3) 5. $/gal 6. Total price (formula for col3 * col5) 7. Notes And at the bottom, I made a row for computing the averages of each column (aside from the date and notes, obviously), and the sum total for the "total price" column. I'd be interested to compare with yours, if you have other statistics tracked or whatnot. |
I also have an excel spreadsheet for gas mileage tracking.
In addition to the things others have mentioned, I track the average miles per day driven. The sheet calculates a number for cumulative (life of vehicle) as well as over the last 10 fill-ups. I also track the average fuel economy over the last 10 fill-ups as well as a cumulative average. |
you guys should post your spreadsheets so we can take alook at them.
