VeriChat - Only receiving every other message?
 

I've crossposted this on another 6700 board but so far haven't gotten any replies. Hoping to find some here :)

For any Verichat users:
This is a new problem that I just found, not sure how long it has been going on for me, I haven't used it in a few days, but as of today:
When Verichat goes into its 'standby' mode (with SMS alerts) I will only receive every other message sent to me, starting with message #2.

For example if 1 person sends me 5 messages on aim as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.. I will only receive 2 and 4.. and I would then receive whatever message they sent after 5.

I also tested this with two other AIM accounts.. if account 1 sends a message to me, and then account 2 sends a message.. I'll get the message from account 2. If account 2 sends another message I won't get it.. but whoever sends me one next I will (Receiving every other one, just as before)

Does anyone here use VeriChat that can verify they are having the same problem? I can help test it if needed to show the issue. Argh I love this program but this is pissing me off :)

I don't use verichat but will have a look into it. do u know what version ur using?

Version 1.42b :) latest from their website.. and I know it was working fine last week. Occasionally I would get a dropped message here or there but it was very rare. I'm wondering if they're just having server issues or not.

I'm sort of disappointed in their support.. considering you pay an ongoing subscription for this program, and they have no forums, server status page or technical support of their own beyond a single email address.

Also, confirmed this isn't related to a single account or messenger type. Different accounts, and tried AIM, MSN and Yahoo.

I sent off an email to their support earlier in the day.. I'll post here with any results I get back, the problem is still occuring.

Hardly a controlled scientific test but I just got a chat initiation on Verichat (1.41b) and it worked as it should...

any luck on your end?

Nope..

but I decided to just turn off the standby/SMS feature and leave it running in the background.. and amazingly it works better than it EVER did with the standby feature! My accounts stay connected, and if I get a phone call or lose connection briefly, it puts me into AFK mode on the IM program and I get the messages when the phone call is over.

So I sorta fixed my problem by disabling that feature lol No reply from their support yet either.

Definitely by far the best chat program out there imo :)
