..update selective features/addons from 1.0.4 without having to do a re-flash?

I use SPB backup to backup everything on the device including ext rom. If I backup and then flash with 1.0.4 then do a restore would I have problems... dumb question that.. but then can someone tell me how to accomplish the above.

This is my first post and I must say that I'm eternally thankful to all y'folks for working on creating this extremely stable and customizable rom.

Oh.. btw: I have the XV6700.

Unfortunatly depending on what you update a flash may be nessesary. Because of regisrty values being changed in the new builds. But it depends on what we are talking about.
