Cant charge phone via computer's USB port?
 

i have my phone plugged into my computer for 4hrs. the battery icon changed to the charging icon.

but # of battery bars stayed the same when i unplugged it.

Why doesnt it charge? and how to fix?

Have you tried a different wire to see if the wire is bad? Is the usb port on the phone loose? I had this happen before and what my problem was the usb port on the phone. so i took it apart and made sure to line up all the points for the usb port and solder it back in place. if you need instructions on how to take the phone apart you could always look for a screen replacement instructions and it will tell you how to take it apart. if your not good at soldering you might want to have someone else do it. Its not hard to do but i dont want you to screw up your phone.

This happened to me once with my 6700. It wasn't a hardware problem, a simple soft reset cleared up the issue. Have you tried that yet?
