Favourite Case for your Apache?

Was wondering what you guys have found is the best case so far you've used. What did you like about it and where did you find it?

BobC 08-06-2007 11:14 PM

I happened across a horizontal case at a used computers store that I frequent. It says "MOTOROLA" on the outside of the magnet clasp and has a tag sticking out of one of the seams on the back side that says "NEXTEL".

It is nicely padded, all leather outside, gives excellent protection - FAR better than that flimsy POS that came with the phone. Dunno what it was designed for but it works PERFECT for the Apache, and I only paid 5 bucks for it!

Perfect Cases

Here are the one I use - I have dropped it stepped on it and it kept my 6700 safe! :D

I use a Fortte case, it was a little expensive, but well worth it.

weedahoe 08-07-2007 08:12 AM

This is the case I use. It has a place for SIM/SD cards, license and 3 cards. You can find it on Ebay for about 12-15 bux with shipping included. Keywords to use are '6700 wallet' if you want to look at it more. It is a very nice case. I bought this one because it allows me to leave my wallet in the truck and carry just what I need on me all the time which is my ID and bank cards.

Cute, but what about when you bend over to pick up that $20 bill you drop, or a pen, or your keys or whatever? DOH!!

Wow man bag...

weedahoe 08-07-2007 11:56 AM

Sure, it isnt no clip on the hip holster but it also has the advantage of you not having a wallet in your back pocket and you sitting to one side causing your back and neck to get out of alignment.

answerman 08-07-2007 12:03 PM

I've used this clip since it came out... almost as long as I've had my phone.

http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=304

Impossible to break the screen, and one hand to remove the phone and replace it in the clip. It's not the trendiest looking thing, but for business use it's slick. And it has *never* fallen out.

Thats the one I've used for a little over a year now and I like it. Easy to get the phone in/out one handed and the screen is protected. Only problem I've had is that the notches in the belt clip have worn down so it no longer "locks" in one position. Really it isn't a big deal though.

I've only had my phone come out of it once and that was because I caught my shirt between the phone and the clip so it wasn't tight.

does that case pop the memory card out....i heard that the case does that.

I assume you are talking about the one that answerman and I have? I've never had this holster pop my memory card.

When I originally got the phone, I bought the Verizon belt clip and that one would eject my sd card about every 3rd time I took it out.

I too have this holster/clip.
I tried a couple of different 'bag' type holsters with velcro/magnetic clasp. Phone would come out of the bag type with either velcro (that one was from Verizon; a freebie so to speak) or the magnetic clasp (couple of different ones from ebay).
I like this one for a couple of main reasons:
1. Touch Screen is facing inward. No chance of damage to the screen
2. Access to the headphone jack. I have a wired set of headphones i got from Verizon (again; freebie items *wink, wink*) (if you can call $40 handsfree a freebie).
3. Rotating belt clip. Don't think that one needs explained.

Only thing I can say I wish this had was a compartment of some sort for extra storage cards.

Been using this one for over a year and have yet to pop-out the storage card when removing the phone.....and the phone has never popped out of the holster.

Aluminum case

stock one from sprint actually, love it

Anton2006 08-07-2007 08:30 PM

Using the clear case from Seidio right now(http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=436), before that I was using the aluminum one. It was really bulky, I like this one way better.

sadmedic 08-07-2007 08:56 PM

Still trying different ones out; I have noticed that the magnet on my leather holster turns my phone on when I insert it....which doesn't help the already poor battery life!! I do like the seido clip and it has never fallen out, but I am afraid the phone is just gonna shoot out of it and smash into pieces.

derf 08-07-2007 09:22 PM

I've got the Krusell case. I've had it for over a year, and I love it!

Same here, Stock case that came from UTStarcom in the retail sprint box... Not the best, But works well for me...

(Although I would like to get the clip style one from seidio too)

Torx 08-07-2007 09:49 PM

i use the same holsterclip as answerman, but LOL, ive always had my touchscreen facing outwards and ive never had any problems with the memory card popping out..

Aluminum Case

i too use the aluminum case except mine is silver. Makes the phone a little bulky but i have dropped it twice on cement and phone has survived.

Jeff Kirvin 08-07-2007 11:45 PM

I've used some great cases from Seidio and really like their clip holsters, but for some time now I've gone completely caseless. I just carry my Apache in my shirt pocket. Close enough to my head for my S9 headphones not to skip, and I always know where it is. I'm just mindful of it when I bend over.
