replacement phone from sprint with BigJ's HYBRID 1.2h ROM??!

Yesterday my phones earpiece stopped working. The speaker worked, just not the earpiece, so i hard reset.. still broken.... reinstalled the stock sprint rom and went to the sprint store. The tech was gone for the day, so the girl at the counter said I needed to comeback tomorrow. There was a guy in the parking lot who was wearing a white sprint shirt instead of the black ones all the employees wear, so I thought maybe he was the manager. He was. So i explained to him I needed a replacement ASAP cuz I was leaving for tour for a month and I couldnt go that long without a phone. He said he thought there was one ppc6700 in the back so he went to check. About 40 minutes later a different employee came out with a phone saying they fixed the earpiece. Right away I could tell this wasnt my phone, it was a replacement phone, but I didnt care. When he handed me the phone I noticed the welcome screen was green instead of blue, I thought that was strange, but didnt really think much about it. Then when the phone booted up I noticed the htc home pluging on the today screen and a moon background image. Laughed out loud and went directly to the games folder and saw all the familiar games in BigJ's rom. It turned out to be someone elses varition of BigJs rom cuz some apps were different, but one of the themes was mario so I knew right away. funny!! Cant believe the tech hadnt switched to the stock rom before giving it to me. Then I started thinking about how dangerous this could be for ppcgeeks. A sticky should be added telling everyone to switch back to stock rom before taking a phone in for service.

p.s. the manager said hundreds of people had already come to that store wanting the 6800 as a warranty replacement. He then told me how he liked the 6700 better than the 6800, and we talked about the custom roms. He said he changes his roms all the time. He asked if I did, and I said nope!!! Never!! ---wink--wink

Maybe it was a used return, somebody bought that 6700 palyed with it didn't like it. I know hard to believe people out there who don't like the 6700.Anyways before the 30 days were up returned it with Bigj's rom and they never noticed it.

From all the information I've read sprint bought 20,000 6700s for replacements. Just in case peoples phones started breaking or disappering when the 6800 came out.

i should call in and see if they will hook me up anyway. my joypad is broke.. so i have the enter disabled with aebuttons.. and the clicks often mistake for right clicks (very annoying) and now my sms is delayed 6 hours or until i call my voicemail then they kick in.

If anyone gets a 6800 replacement for the 6700, they're damn lucky.

From what I've heard, even if you have had 3 replacement 6700s, they are giving out 700wx's instead.

Though the Mogul must not be TOO great of a device considering people on eBay are selling them for around 480 as opposed to the 540 that Sprint sells them for, sometimes even less than 480...
