I leave my phone on vibrate only, no ringer, this worked with VC 1.5 on the 2.5 VZ Rom. I have also tried setting it to the Windows Default ringer, still the same result. I am using the Crossbow dialer with the HTC Smart dial.
There's your problem. VC 1.5 doesn't work on AKU 3.5. You need VC 1.6. The OEM for Voice Command is created with VC 1.6.

Windows mobile device center - Vista

Has anyone had any trouble with syncing on Vista with the Mobile device center? I havent read about it in this thread.
I use Exchange with push and when I sync to the my PC it connects and starts the sync. It just will not make any progress. This was a problem I had with my 700w I had when it first came out using activesync on XP. You had to disable some of the items to sync and it would then work. Or, you could delete the partnership and re set it up again.
With all the previous kitchens I have had no problems syncing to the PC(notes, favorites, files). Since kitchen 1.04 I have been unable to sync with the PC.
Any ideas?

Can you be more specific regarding "With all the previous kitchens I have had no problems syncing"? Did it work with other 1.0.x releases?

The first rom installed was the Kirvin C&S earlier this year if im not mistaken. Moving up to Helmi Official AKU 3.5 Kitchen, Release 1.0.4
I have used R1.01. R1.02 also.
I have always used exchange push for contacts, calendar, e-mail, and tasks. Then I use Windows mobile device center 6.1 on Vista to sync notes, favorites, and files. I have never had a problem with Exchange. I have never had a problem with Vista sync until the latest ROM 1.04 which for the first time allowed me the option to sync OneNote, which I didn't select to sync.
I create the partnership and connect. I can browse the phone, but when I sync, the status bar just doesnt move. It will never finish or even progress.

I am using 1.6 now but still no caller id.

I just found this on the MS-VC troubleshooting site:

Quote:
Bluetooth audio routing is working except for Caller ID
If you have a Windows Mobile 5.0 device prior to build 15097.3.0.0, you will not be able to receive spoken caller ID notifications through the Bluetooth headset. Windows Mobile with build number the same or higher than build 15097.3.0.0 includes support for Inband ringtone which is the mechanism that Voice Command uses for announcing caller ID information while the phone is ringing.
I checked my version and it is higher than the requirement, but is the Inband comment a concern?

Are you running any firewall software? I have seen Cisco Security Agent prevent syncing with mobile devices.

I was too stubborn to check that the windows firewall was blocking part of the sync. Turns out it was. I was unable to figure exactly that was but I found some info on which ports to open as follows:
990 TCP Inbound
999 TCP Inbound
5678 TCP Inbound
5721 TCP Inbound
26675 TCP Inbound
5679 UDP Outbound
Opening these ports allowed a seemless sync. I have also noticed that I have had the com surrogate stop working when starting sync. It sounds related to Nero, and the latest version fixes this. But it doesnt. neromobilead.exe allways starts as soon as I plug in the phone so I navigated to the registry @ HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE services\Autostartonconnect
and deleted the neromobilead.exe entry. Well for a MS firewall and MS product it sure was a pain to allow syncing. Its just too weird that it has been working with all the past roms I've used untill flashing to the most current rom 1.04.
So there you have it!

In my ftp directory,

Optional_WeatherPanel: updated for alternate authorization. If you use ActiveSync for internet access, you'll have to modify your hosts file as well - see bottom of .RGU file for directions

Optional_PocketCM_KeyboardEN_0.3b: new

Ben,
With a few non-repeatable exceptions, this feature (bluetooth caller id) has never worked out of the box for any rom on the 6700, no matter what OS build number is reported. Search for a little app called "ID Transfer" by Bad Sector. He'll fix you up. tmb

When attempting to open a gif from within the windows folder pics & vids locks up. I was thinking maybe it was the old problem we used to have where you had to copy the files from the oem folder over to windows but as the oem folder is not present in this build I'm assuming they already did that. either way pics and vids is locking up from windows.
