I just left my phone alone for a while, sitting, un-docked, un-plugged on my desk with activesync running against my exchange server. had HTC 6 button and weatherpanel on the today screen and have pocketplus and mobile shell 1.5 running...have not configured live (since my last hard-boot)...and when I picked it up, I was on the WM boot screen locked up. A soft reset brought it back though...

Anyone else have this occur?

HTC audio

I edited the reg to "2" so that the 5th tab will launch the HTC Audio Manager. You have to click on Start then Today to let it keepplaying otherwise it will stop. I think it would keep playing with an earlier ROM.

zack, I am also having this problem. I changed my weather image from NA-USA-VA to NA USA EAST coast Infrared, and that one loaded but I don't like it as much. The first one won't load

...we don't have a solution yet, but need details to work one out...

Which carrier OEM are you using?
I have this same problem, but I also had it on 1.02 and 1.03, and with the 1.29 and 1.41 radios. I tried a 1.04 ROM with the absolute minimum OEM's installed and it didn't have this problem. I tried removing Arcsoft MMS and that wasn't it. I haven't gone through installing one OEM at a time to see which causes it, but I plan to. The nice part is that it's consistently easy to recreate.

The problem exhibits itself as the text message overwriting the from address. If the text is shorter than 10 characters, the from address has the remainder of the from address appended. For example, a text of "Hello" from "8005551212" would say "Hello51212" in the from address.

I'm using Sprint. I have the 1.41 radio installed. I used the following 1.04 build:

Transcriber
Enterprise
Games
Windows Live Mobile
NET Compact Framework II.sp2
SqlCe Mobile
Windows Media
Firmware Update
Remote Desktop Mobile
Office 2005
HTC Camera
Additional Ringtones
Additional Themes
Adobe Pdf Reader
Cambridge Bluetooth Add-on
Contacts Manager 1.6
DictEditor
HTC Streaming Media Player 2.10
Windows Live Search 1.0
Mark All As Read
MyExtensions
PocketRAR
Smartskey
SoftKey Applet
WM5torage v.1.7.5
10-Button Comm Manager
All games...
Cyberon Voice Commander
iBliss Phonepad
Esmertec Jeodek Java
Sprint ExtROM version 2.06.300
Adobe Flash Player
HTC WMP Today Plug-In
Microsoft Internet Sharing
Wireless Modem (Wmodem)
BL Black Keyboard Skin
Resco Explorer 2007
SPB Silver Calculator Skin
SPB Core Services
SPB Pocket Plus 3.2.0-Optimized
ExtRom Unlock
VJCandela (Normal Install)

Hope that helps. I'll let you know if I find a combination that causes it.

Mine would also do this. I went into taskmanager and set the close feature to tap and hold to close application instaed of just tap. Works great, just make sure you tap only.

Thanks for the detailed analysis, it's much better than the other reports we've seen on this issue. Very much appreciated.

huh... strange. I guess it might have to do with the combination of OEMs that I am loading... only thing new this time was 1calc, pocketCM, and the 10 button comm manager. Can't guess as to why those would make it lock up.

Oh well, it's either no reg editing or another flash in my future.

thanks for checking javo
Do other reg editors work? Total Commander or PHM Regedit for instance.

I haven't built a rom with PHM yet. I will try tonight and post back here. I was unaware that Total Commander had a regedit function. Do you mean Resco?
