Weird ActiveSync!

I have kinda been able to sync (I stress "Kinda"). When I start up Windows (XP SP2), I have to manually start AS. Once I do, the program starts OK. When I connect my 6700, the AS window says that it is connected but the taskbar icon is still grey. Once it starts to sync, it asks me for the Office (2K3) install source and then runs the "installing Office 2003 components". Once this is done, the sync runs fine while the icon is still grey. I have tried to uninstall, disable the firewall, delete partnerships, hard resets, downgrading to 4.1, EVERYTHING!! Any ideas out there?

Do you have outlook 2003 installed? Are you trying to sync with some outher program? Also I have seen some errors when trying to sync media. Keep us informed.

More tinkering...

When I am connected via USB....
The icon in the taskbar says that I am not connected, it syncs up OK, and then the troubleshooter starts.

When I am connected via Bluetooth...
The icon in the taskbar says that I am connected, it syncs up OK, and all is well.

What is going on???

That's a total different problem. Go to active sync on the ppc go to menu connections and change the bluetooth to usb and try again. Hope that helps

under activesync on your ppc-6700, did you go to menu>connections>and put a check into the "synchronize all pcs using this connection"...usb?
