Why can't I data roam anymore.
 

My sprint phone recently bit the dust and I had to get a new one. I updated my extended ROM months ago and it unlocked the ability to do data roaming. Unfortunatly I live in a area that only get good signal on roam.

I created a ROM and used the extROm from the 1.0.3 kitchen. When roaming I get an error message "data roaming prohibited". Does anyone know what file I have to install from sprints extended ROM to stop this?

On a side note does anyone know the regedit to allow for data during a phone conversation.

Two things seem to affect data roaming...

1. Your PRL. Call up *2 and tell the friendly rep that you would like to be flagged for a PRL update. 90% of reps will do this no problem. If you get one that won't, hang up and call back.

After you get flagged, wait a minute or two, then call *2 again--you should get redirected automatically to an automated PRL updater, which updates your PRL over the air while you're on the phone. It's all automated.

The latest PRL is 20229.

2. If you still can't data roam after that you might need a PRI (confusing I know) update. Go to Start->Settings->System tab->Device Information and report what your current PRI version is.

Is data roaming still not working for you?

If not you need to find the extrom cab called:

PPST_FILE_SPCS_1_19_003_with_PRL20224.sa.CAB

If you run that, it may appear to not do anything, but leave it for a good few minutes, then soft reset and you should see your PRI is now 1_19_003. It may revert your PRL to 20224 but that is easy enough re-update to 20229 if needed. But even 20224 has the data roaming enabled.

Can you make an oem for sprints extended ROM that includes this file. I flash very often and I always mess up on extROM oems
