How to add new system sounds

I want to add new custom system sounds to my verizon xv6700. I can add new ringtones, but haven't been able to figure out how to add sounds for alerts and alarms. Can anyone help? Thanks.

you have to use totalcommander or a program like it, they are in the /windows folder

Another program you can check out is Resco Explorer. Like 4 Door said, they have to go in the \Windows folder, and for mail and alarms I think they have to be wav files too.

wav or wma files

WMA's don't work for me. I just tried some and they don't show up for system notifications or ringtones. Only WAV's for system notifications.

I would love to be able to use WMA's, so much smaller than WAV's.

You can only use .wav files if you are using the original OS for notifications.
But if you use something like phone alarm or another program that allows you to change notifications, then you can use .wmas, mp3s or whatever.
