Phone in cradle all night.... No radio suddenly..*UPDATED*
My phone was charging like normal last night, no DSOD no lock up .. nothing... normal. I go to call someone this morning and no phone radio!
It tells me a wireless phone radio has to be connected. Totally odd!!! But I can't get it into bootloader to reload the radio on there. I had gotten the newest release sprint radio from here and put that on months ago along with Sar's rom pr6 or something.. so long ago I forget which rom I have. Any ideas guys??? I can't get the radio back on here! it's bricked as a phone!! and I can't take it in to get it replaced either with custom job on it. *****UPDATE: okay so took bricked phone into Sprint. They ask "Hey can we hard reset it?" I say "why sure" Come back two hours later.. They can't fix it. I tell them you are holding my whole business in your hand, they say we don't have any in stock, you can have a Treo 700W? I say, Uh no. Thank you. I need my phone back now, and I need it to be a working 6700 preferably. I had to leave for a second briefly (I have two toddlers... we had potty emergency) Came back... WOW what do ya know.. they "found" a new one suddenly. (I think maybe my 1.5 yr old blowing his kazoo helped?) So.. New phone, no waiting, no money spent... AWESOME Only question now is.... dare I touch it???? It's pristine. I'm jonesing of course to get the nicest ROM on there and load up all my goodies (this time unlock my EXT rom and clear it out) on the other hand... It's pristine. |
i get that error every once and a while, i just have to do a soft reset to fix it. i just chalk it up to a quirk due to the software i run on my phone.

I have done three soft resets and one hard reset. The phone took forever to figure out what the heck it was doing after the hard reset. Still no phone radio.

A truly random (i.e. not while you are in the middle of flashing a ROM) occurrence of the no radio thing usually means your phone is dying or dead. It's been reported enough times both on the Apache and the Universal (which shares many internal similarities with the Apache) to convince me of that.
Your CDMA radio may have gotten zapped or there is a problem with the flash memory parition that stores your radio ROM. I would save yourself a lot of hassle and pursue replacement from your carrier if you have insurance. |
I have the insurance that you pay for everymonth... like I have to call them.. they send a new one, you pay 50
Is there anyway I can reflash to old sprint oem? and take it broken to the store? |
If the phone can't read the radio nvm (as in the case of a dead radio) then you may find it difficult or impossible to update the ROM because that's where the rom update utility verifies your carrier ID. You can try extracting the latest official sprint update and flashing it (or just the nk.nbf which is the main ROM) using the noid flash tools, but I think that may still not work (but worth a try). Worst comes to worst we may be able to use mtty to erase everything so your phone won't even boot up. If you want to do that then come by the chatroom (click Chat at the top of the page) and someone there can walk you through it.

I had my radio go out on one of my phones but luckily I had the equipment protection and sprint replaced it. I flashed back of course to the entire oem ext_rom OS and ext_rom first and they swapped it out for me ... lol it was the friday before they released the mogul if it would have been 3 more days I might have got a mogul instead.
|
oh forgot to add...Thank YOUUUUUUUUU luv2chill
and no shot at the mogul :( three guys in the store were using it right there too. Got to finally get my hands on it and see it. Interesting. One other thing I noticed was how dang small the treo has gotten since the 650 (one I had) WOW. |
