Here is the issue. If I soft reset my phone, all MMS messages goto the ThreadedSMS application. Video messages come in as only pics, so I cannot get the video. Pictures seem to work mostly.
If I open up the other MMS program (inside of Outlook) and then leave it open then all MMS messages will now come to that inbox and I can view all pix and flix messages just fine.
Other than opening the other MMS application after every soft reset (poutlook is already in the startup section, but this workaround doesn't work until I manually open it up and it shows in the task manager) is there a way to force MMS to outlook and bypass the ThreadedSMS application?
Thanks

This question may be better asked of colonel or luv2chill, i did not build this particular MMS package, i just used the one that came with the kitchen this time around. sorry i cant be more useful with this

Everything as far as I can tell is working fine for me since doing the BigJ Rom update earlier today, except one Big issue. My contacts, calendar, tasks, notes and such will not sync w/ my phone now. In fact, it says "There is not enough free memory on your device to syncronize information. Close programs that are running to free up memory, or restart the device." Thing is, nothing else is running, and it appears that I should have plenty of memory available. Any ideas/advice? I've restarted both the computer and 6700 multiple time to no avail. Thanks in advance

that is really freaky, ive heard of something similiar but you may not like it. Go into the registry and disable your ability to see your ext.rom.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:00000002
remove those two keys, and use a program such as memmaid to soft reset the phone (this will force the change to write immediately).
double check that you no longer see the extended_rom as a folder on the root of your machine and try to sync. let me know.

BigJ how can i get the files for outlook sms back?
there is no way to remove it from the kitchen, and if i flash another rom with the outlook as sms client i cant copy the 13 files that the threaded sms overrides, ive tried both total commmander and resco explorer to copy them but it just gives me some stupid error.
since i cant use the palm threaded im going to try TextMan and Textr threaded sms applications, TextMan is real basic and does work if threaded sms is installed but i would rather use the Textr application thats has a little more flash but it will not work with palm sms being installed.
oh and another question, how exactly do u change ur splash screen using the kitchen, i see the app to do it, but how exactly does it work?
thanks again for making the kick a$$ roms/kitchens
|
thats pretty simple actually, download the kitchen from the link on page one, launch the BUILDOS.exe file and UN-Check the threadedSMS and hit build. that is the
ONLY way to get rid of it.
well im lying to you, the easiest way to get rid of it is to change the registry settings back to their original settings. this will not only bypass the threadedsms handler but automatically dump your messages back into outlook (unless you MANUALLY launch the threadedsms application.... then they will be captured by the threaded program).
i am NOT going to do the footwork to track down the original keys but here are the ones you are looking for...

delete the ones that are specific to the threadedsms program, and RESTORE back the keys that are modified by the application, take the poutlook out of /windows/startup/ and viola!
i only know this because i accidently built a rom WITH the threadedsms and forgot to put the RGU file in the OEM directory, so i built the ROM with the threadedsms and NO registry entries for it. unless i started the application manually they all went into outlook.
hence, i have no freakin' clue wich entries are default nor where to find them, i just know that without that rgu (which is pasted above in the quote tags) you can choose to toggle it between threaded and outlook.
i invite you to run the research and post back a .REG file... i will include it in future revisions of the ROM so people can disable the threading if they so choose... just not going to take that project on myself.....ever..... Good Luck!

i've tried searching and came up empty on this one. I'm running this rom but am unable to get ringtones to play through stereo bluetooth. MSVC announces the number and all that jazz through the headset but no ringtone. what am i missing?

thanks for picking that one up, i may have to include that little app in my next build

I appreciate the active discussion!
