My Today Screen is a work in progress. It is based upon hanmin's iPhone efforts at xda-developers.com, and I cannot thank him enough. That being said, I am using cLaunch for the top icons and phoneAlarm for the bottom icons.
I am using Pocket Secure to lock my mobile, as it allows skinning. Using the iPhone lock screen as a reference, I took it upon myself to rebuild it from scratch, with adjustments made for where Pocket Secure positions its time and date. (If you look closely, you will see that the Clown Fish are in a slightly different position on the screen than in the original iPhone lock screen, due to it being rebuilt from scratch.) I would prefer finding a way to skin the built-in lock screen, but adding the time and date in a similar manner would be difficult or impossible. I chose to keep the menu bars because VJToggleToday became too unpredictable. Every time I used the keyboard and the display switched to landscape, I would need to run VJToggleToday again. I wanted something consistent, even if the final result is not as clean as it could be. I will update this post as time allows me to work on the skin. I am also looking into skinnable applications to carry the theme through to the application level. So far, I have found a skinnable calculator and will begin working on skinning that after I finish the lock screen. All of this being said, I think that I will soon grow bored of this look. I already have sketches and preliminary Photoshop work done for a crisp, clean Windows Mobile UI replacement. At least Microsoft doesn't threaten to loose the lawyers on me for expressing myself in this manner. http://www.boarral.com/xda/wm5-iphone-today.jpg http://www.boarral.com/xda/wm5-iphone-locked.jpg |

I was thinking about getting WBA Desktop, but I'm worried about the performance hit, as I already have WBA2 and iLauncher. As of now, I've already given back most of the performance gains picked up with the latest ROMs. |

That's mine. I grabbed a Whatsta Vista theme, used the Whatsta phonalarm skin and added iLauncher into the mix. I really like the way it performs so far, although phonealarm is giving me some problems. Not as many problems as when I have used it in the past, so right now the utility outweighs the annoyances. I hope it stays that way. I tried the full whatsta theme with wisbar and all that, but it just slows the device down so much. Not to mention that QVGA makes most of the theme unusable. The next PocketPC Phone I buy will have AT LEAST a VGA screen, and hopefully a WVGA screen. Hopefully these aren't all that far away from launching in America... I'm using Sardinour's 3.5+ ROM as well. I think this is the most satisfied I've ever been with my 6700. |
I'm using one of the stock 3.5 roms and whenever i select a theme that's supposed to display a black start and taskbar but they always come out looking gray. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

I like mine clean and simple, Attempting to use as much original stuff as possible... The only theme program I use is WA2 with the Vista Express Dark theme, And I like to keep it similar to my computer where I organize programs in the start menu creating folders and such where needed... |
First post and my screen...
Pretty simple for now...
Using Wisbar and Wisbar Desktop - skins from Wisbar forum... http://upload7.postimage.org/26632/today.jpg |

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\allBlack.tsk\Color_S oftkeyFlatCenter HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\allBlack.tsk\Color_T itleFlatCenter Create them both as binary keys, with a value of 00 00 00 00 and perform a soft reset. That should fix it. It's not a problem with AKU 3.5, it's just the way Windows Mobile works. |
