Yes, and way to install the OS/ROM along with many applications that you normally would have no way to install in ROM, thus saving storage space by not having to install them outside of the rom. The space avaialbe in the ROM is finite so you may have to install the apps as you would normally through AS.


2) Extended ROMS are basically used to store registry modifications and settings that you don't want to loose when you hard-reset your phone?

Ext2 by default is hidden and includes carrier specific upgrades. If you unlock the Ext2 then you have full access to it for apps or whatever you want. Yes, ext2 survives a hard reset.


3) If in fact you don't loose apps when you hard restart or anything and kitches are just convienent ways to get a everything installed at once, where can I find an clean kitchen to install?

You may lose apps/data that werent installed when you cooked your Kitchen. Yes, a cinvienent way to install everything. The main selling point :) You can find many pre-cooked ROMs here on the FTP or a better solution is to find the OEMs (apps ready to add to the kitchen) you use then cook your own ROM.

I would wait a few days for the 3.3 Final PPCGeeks Unified ROM due very soon if you do want to cook your own.
