My LED's revisited
Tonight while plugging in the XV6700 I saw one of the LED's ( right side ) flicker twice than went dark. Now I'm thinking bad ribbon cable or plug. Is there a breakdown diagram anywhere and is it worth the effort to tear it apart?
Thanks |
Re: My LED's revisited
PLEASE USE THE SEARCH. You will find a tear down. I have taken mine apart to fix things numerous times. It is worth it if you have time.

Re: My LED's revisited
There are plenty of documents on this and can be found here on the board or even by using Google. I dont have any in my bookmarks so I cant give you one personally but they are out there.

Re: My LED's revisited
Thanks, in the future I will search harder. I did search as suggested however the search terms I used here led me to lots of post but nothing specific. A Google search was a little more useful and referred back to post here. Many dead links later and on page 4 was a referance to another site called Belly Button Porn, Also mentioned in the Google site.
Not that I'm against porn, I've either seen or done most at my age, I generally stay away from those sites because of the risk of increases in computer problems I did however check out the disassembly instructions that were very well layed out but saw nothing specific to the LED's. So the question remains if there is an LED daughter card, or ribbon cable or is the LED power source one of the other 2 cables that feed from the front half to the back. If it is the last one it is most definitely something that needs to be looked at to prevent additional issues. Thanks |
Re: My LED's revisited
Yeah, I know what link you are talking about. IDK why it is linked through that. There is one on Wiki I seen that was good also.

Re: My LED's revisited
The "BellyButtonPorn" one is fine. The site is safe. Don't worry about it.

Re: My LED's revisited
Yeah but if you are like me and at work most of the time. our network picks it up by its domain name and will block it every time. :-(
