Touch & Cube cabs - Is it possible?
 

I am like most VZN customers stuck till UTStarcom posts a AKU Update. Is it possible to get cabs made for the XV6700 instead of running a ROM update?
like the following:


HTC reTOUCHed Dialer
HTC Touchflo Cube
HTC Touch UI Home
HTC Touch UI CommManager
HTC Taskmanager
Updated camera and such

What do you mean stuck? I've been running 3.5.something for months on end now... As to some of the touch cabs, they are available here... some of the others just dont work.... Here's a link to them...

Now, I'd make a good backup of my contacts and my phone usnig spbbackup and pimbackup, and be ready to hard reset if one of these installs totally hoses it up.

I know that the updated camera still isnt working, but the dialer, commmgr and taskmanager are working good.

I think what he wants are the CAB files so he can install them on his phone, all that there are as far as i can tell are OEMs.

Quite a bit of success with getting these plugins on the Wizard.
Anyone thing there's a possibility of getting the Home plugin working on our Apaches? Might anyone have it working?

I just tried installing it, and it says it is successful, it shows up in my list of installed programs to add/delete and delete from the ppc, but it won't show up as an option on the Today item selector or in the program/settings options.

I tried installing the cab for HTC Touch UI CommManager from the XDA/Wizard site. No joy. My comm manager still looks like this:

Can anyone provide me with a cab to reinstall this thing so that I don't have to hard reset my phone?

You may want to try deleting the commmanger in rom \windows and see if the original will overwrite.

A cab I found over at XDA. Made for the Wizard, but thought it might work.

Is it possible to delete that file from ROM? I thought those were all pretty well locked in there.

I'm also asking around to see if anyone can post the correct font file for windows\fonts- that might work too.

I've attached the file I used. I can't get WinCE manager working, otherwise I'd just take this apart and get it myself.

i just took it apart but find nothing related to the font.
Is there something specific you need from the cab i could give you?


If you "delete" a file in the rom under windows the original should pop back into its place. The ones "locked" in place are the original.

You would need to use something like resco to delete a file in rom.

If you have this CommManager installed, could you copy and post whatever files you have in \fonts ?
That's rapidly looking like my only option unless someone has the correct Apache CAB file for the Touch CommManager.

I'm already trying to figure out if I can hard reset and restore from a backup without getting the same darn errors.

Try installing this one. I installed it on mine and font is fine. It is the same as the one you posted but with the original comm.
