rev a upgrade

Here's a simple question:
Is the EVDO Rev A upgrade Verizon is rolling out require a hardware upgrade or can there be a software hack for our Apaches?

No RevA requires a newer chipset than the one in the 6700. There is no way to soft upgrade it.
