just heard the weirdest thing!!!
I just got off the phone with my Sprint CSR (he's a friend and keeps me up to date on the stuff that he hears) and the rumor around the Sprint stores is. August 1'st you will be able to trade "straight across" your 6700 for a 6800? I said that this seemed a bit strange and unlikely to me. he replied that it was because of EVDO rev-A, and that it would be more cost effective to upgrade.
anyone else in this forum hear this? this just sounds "too good to be true" to me (so it probably is) but hey a boy can dream right! |
I am doubtful as well. For no other reason than because of the uproar from all the people who shelled out money for the Mogul now. Plus, a good chunk of the Mogul sales right now are business sales.

OOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOO........
That would be cool... does sound to good to be true..... But it makes me wonder if they are just trying to trick me out of my free tethering............ |
If they do though, I wonder if Verizon would jump on the wagon and do the same.
|
now dont get me wrong I hope its true. but my goal here is "not" to spread rumors! i was just wondering if anyone else had heard this. or if "my guy" is full of chit. some things he has told me in the past have paned out and others have floped. so I take everything he says with a grain of salt . and im not trying to tought this as fact just what i'v heard. anyone with better info please post it here.
"progress is not always moving forward" |
I do find it wierd that tho I have less than 6 months on my contract, I can't seem to buy a Mogul with at least a $75 rebate. It's only offered to me at $550. Hell... I can buy a iPhone for that... I'm sure I can get them to come around... I have been a customer since 99. :D
|
are you sure he didn't mean if you broke your phone and need a replacement and have insurance then you can trade in for 6800. It does sound way too good 2 be true for the instance you mentioned, but you never know it could be a marketing plume in response to ATT's iPhone. People are breaking their current contracts to get the iPhone

im not going to get my hopes up.
and could it be because rev a may not be compatible with our 6700, is why they are willing to upgrade for free? if it isnt a false? |
our phones do indeed support rev. A the spec sheet for the msm 6500 (our chipset) indicates this:
"Supports CDMA2000 1X Rel. 0 and Rev. A, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0 and GSM/GPRS networks" http://www.cdmatech.com/products/msm...t_solution.jsp Also it occurred to me that if indeed this is true it'll only apply to Power Vision subscribers who have been using it since they got the phone, otherwise how would it be more cost effective? |
