Custom Rom w/ WA2/WAD

I know these programs arent too popular, for speed issues or something. But I can't get them to work trying to brew my own rom, and was hoping maybe there was a chance of a rom out there already that I missed including these. Any other suggestions of ways to do this or alternative roms, really anything would help. I'm going crazy...
