poor video quality

does anyone else take videos with the 6700? The quality is not just bad, it stinks. it jumps and half the screen will freeze then jump. ive tried changing the frame rate but not any change. changed to capture size medium, nothing. tried 3gp and mpeg, same. anyone have similar issues? best frame rate?

is this with htc's camera app or the coolcamera app?

i dont mean to insult your intelligence but,
you got the focus set right?
writing to storage card or onboard storage?

yes i have same problems using the camera app included with ppc. Is there a fix or does ther coolcamera app just rock out over the bundled one?

friguy3 06-26-2007 11:23 AM

its the htc camera program, writing to the main memory (tried the storage card too) and yes it is not set to macro/the flower, its on the dot (i assume thats what you mean by focus). maybe ill try coolcamera if i can find it

Yea its pretty pathetic but for a quick "snapshot" video form a phone it does the job. Hopefully the next generation or two will see a quantum leap in phone cams, it needs it badly. Not just resolution but all the many other factors that contibute to the current horrible state including lag, better quality lens than plastic, non proprietary file formats, speed, interface and on and on.

sad, but every other phone (not pda, regular cell phone) ive had took video perfectly, this should be able to at least compare, but falls very very short. hopefully the 6800 is better, hopefully my 6700 breaks after they have run out of 6700 replacements :toothy7:
