Cricket: apache-error code 120
So I've searched around and not really found the answer to my question so I'll make a post. My dad and I have been working for the last few hours making this Apache I have work with my Cricket account we now have the newest build OS and we've tried to cook up a kitchen for WM6.1 for this thing and we keep getting an "error 120 country Code"
We have bootloader 1.02 If any guru here could help up get this darn thing cracken it'd be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this has been posted already I couldn't find it searching around the forums. Also is it possible and if so, should we update bootloader? |
Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
I should also note that we tried RUU set to NoID to no avail.
{EDIT} it had to do with carrier "Cricket on vx6700" vs "Cricket" |
Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
Well hell we ran it set up as
Apache/v1.02/WM6.1/NoID/Cricket on vx6700 and threw error 120 Apache/v1.02/WM6.1/NoID/Cricket and we nolonger had the error 120 code and with out adding anything to the kichen it flashed. So we decided to reflash it trying to add features and we got an error 150 code. So we changed it to Apache/v1.02/WM6.1/Standard/Cricket and now we get error 101 Im at wits end with this infernal contraption, I need a saving grace. or my brain is going too.:violent2: |
Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
Why don't you try just running a stock ROM then change PRL and settings for MMS and EVDO? That's all I did for Cricket...

Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
Well we officially got it to work a few times the only thing thats changed is as complained and stomped around a bit. its odd you reboot the comp and phone and flash it it wouldnt't work, do it agai nand it would.. i swear even in XP this comp is as unstable as charles manson.. but all in all it worked. thanks for the help.
BTW have you heard of anyone actually removing the ROM (the hardware rom not the software) and dropping in a larger one and reprogramming the apache to work with it?) I'm more of a hardware hacker then a software hacker. I was just brain storming Iknow you can add in SD cards as memory or sorts but actually replacing the internal memory with a larger capacity. Thanks again mates. |
Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
I love that idea, and while I can not do it, I would love to see someone try. The main thing I see being an issue is the mainboard was only supposed to support so much memory, giving it a bigger capacity may not mean we get to use it, other then bragging rights (yea, I have 512 MB memory!). I think of this only because of a regular PC's problem with memory. My desktop, in 32 bit, supports over 4 GB, but will show 3, and use 3, 64 bit allows me to use all 4. 128 MB storage and 128 mb running ram sounds pretty damn sexxy to me, though.
The other thing, finding a module in a bigger capacity that will fit in the original module's place, though possibly scavaging it from a mogul or touch or something may be a viable solution. If 256 storage were possible, it could be interesting to put linux in the system memory, making it tons faster then the sd card method we have to use now. |
Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
Well TBH my dad is the electricial in the family. If we can scrounge up some schematics for the apache and if we can find another deal for one [saw one ealier going for 50$] we may have to try that.

Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
I think there were some guys from China who were able to get that on the Apache, not sure though.

Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20041 PDAJ i found a thread that i think you were talking about it looks good but it seems complicated bcuz it is in chinese and they even had a wm6.1 rom and this was in april of last year

Re: Cricket: apache-error code 120
And a thanks from me to you! After reading through, it looks like my original worries were true, they never mentioned overcoming the last of the issues, which leads me to believe the system either couldn't handle it, or wouldn't use it. I don't expect better running out of it, I was leaning for storage abilities. So lionheart, think its doable? Or anyone hell, we can't have ppcgeeks falling behind!
