Re: Android on the apache walkthrough

Tekk said in the primary thread and on his site that he seems to have gotten CDMA to work, meaning either voice, text or internet is working, but he hasn't released the updated version yet. Even if it does work, power management does not, making this release unusable as a phone (it eats batteries alive). It can't charge, well it does, but it doesn't STOP charging, it can suspend, but it can't wake up, it doesn't scale cpu speeds and all that good stuff.

any way to get android on to the phone alone? ive been getting tired of WM6 locking up and just being slow. would be great if there was an installer that would automatically put android on your phone from the computer.

Re: Android on the apache walkthrough

No, the latest release (that I know of) has a image file that is 100 MB, no way to store it on the phone itself, but you can put your android folder on phone memory, with the haret, startup, zimage and initrd files. The rootfs and the image file it creates will still be on the SD card. It's also not polished enough to run as a replacement to WM yet. I doubt this will ever be flashable to replace WM as it runs on linux, which is not native to these phones.

But, the good news is tekk is revamping the file system (which is stored on that 100mb image) so it may get smaller, how much, I can't say, and if it will fit on phone memory, I dunno.

Serious newbie here

I've rebooted after setting up the files about 15 times now and this last time i'll leave it going over night but i'm stuck at "jumping to kernel" part of the boot process.

I've made sure about the file names but no avail so far.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for comments

Try this... it worked for me after having the same problem -

BT: off, WiFi: off, Cellular: on and then HTC Performance: off
