Weird SMS problem
 

Hi,

Recently, I installed WM6 on my PPC6700. I am getting a pretty weird problem since the installation.

I am not receiving (SMS/text message) senders number and/or name. First word of a message is appearing as a sender's name. e.g. If someone has sent me a SMS "Hello How are you ?" then i receive :
From : Hello
Text : How are you ?

I tried installing WM6 for 3 to 4 times but problem persists.

Man, there are so many threads on this. You need to reflash with a different ROM. Seriously.

You Can Also Hard Reset And Once It Say Customizing In 3 2 1 Soft Reset Right Away.

i'd already tried by hard-resetting but it didnt work.
any way, could you please give me the link for healthy ROM ?

When you hard resetted did you hit reset before the OEM Customizations message?

Guys,

i could solve the issue. The probable reason lies either in SMS formats (WM5, WM6) or something with PIMBackup.

For 3-4 times, I installed WM6 and immediately i restored SMSes which were earlier lied in WM5. Today, I didnt restore any of the data (SMSes, Contacts etc) and then i received complete SMS. :)

If you reset before customizations you can still use WM6. Not very hard...

I didnt get you.

See, I'll give you exact steps what i followed earlier and now :
Earlier :
1. Backup the data (including SMSes)
2. Install WM6
3. Restore the data (including SMSes)

Recent :
1. Back-up the data
2. Install WM6
Thats all !

Do you mean to say, with the help of customisation I could retrieve the data as well as I could receive the full SMSes ? If yes, would you please explain how ?

Okay, lol. When the phone is done flashing and you go thorugh all the screen configurations and junk. It pops up with a message saying "OEM Customization will start in 3 senconds". You need to hit the reset hole before that.
