Ok, here is a good one

Lets figure this out......

is there a reason why my pc will restart/boot when i try so sync my ppc with it????

It just started doing it today. Two nights I had to do a sysprep to be able to use norton ghost and make a clone of my harddrive for my other computer..... i t jsut started acting this way tonight, it was syncing just fine this morning???

any clues anyone???

i have checked the usb hardware under system...and yes i ahve a yellow flag as in a conflict, but is only on one usb card..... i tried hooking it to the actual usb ports on the motherboard and is doing the same thing.....

im clueless for now

hm....now the pc beeps at me twice as in "WRONG" kind of beep when i place the ppc i teh cradle......im scared!!!

hehe, nah, i might just do a hard reset now if nothing works

yikes this is probably related to the norton ghost, as I use maxtor to clone hds without any probelms. I have never seen or heard of this, but I will try a duplicate tomorrow at home. I think that its the pc and not the ppc tho..

well.. maybe..since the pc will not recognize the ppc...... at all....reason it will not sync

Wideawake 08-22-2006 01:54 AM

well u was the one talkin bout a hard reset

bunnytrigger 08-22-2006 01:58 AM

:P....ya know, i dropped it really hard today, no physical damage on the outer shell that was visible........maybe something got loose??? :(

Wideawake 08-22-2006 02:01 AM

I doubt it, I dropped mine twice on to hard concrete with scrathes and still works great, besides the few visable scrathes. Note do not put the ppc in ur front shirt pocket and bend over cuz it will fall  happened to me twice now!

well....i did my technique that i always tell everyone, remove device from actisync, and add again...... nothing..........then disabled the actual device from your pc and enabled it again under system panel.............nothing.......reset both pc and ppc............nothing.................check firewall settings and all.............then did all the basic troubleshootin on the manual........nothing.....

came to realize that under device manager the ppc is actualy recognized as a network adapter.....DUH!!!! unistall it and when u cradle it again, activesyn pops right up and syncs.......omgosh....i feel like a noob.....

but i pretty much did everything u can do to make this thing work....learn from my example....or idioticy.....if that is even a word :D

Wideawake 08-22-2006 02:19 AM

so ur fine now right?

bunnytrigger 08-22-2006 02:23 AM

yes, i am.......i am very curious about what could have caused this issue though, in case someone ever has the same problem. That way we know which way to go into helping them since not everyone here is a geek like you or malatesta :P

Wideawake 08-22-2006 02:54 AM

yea I also wonder what it was. and well since ur a member of ppcgeeks, u must be one too.
