Disable Data For Good!

Hey guys, I just finished my flash of Helmi's Kitchen R3 on my XV6700, and I am loving it so far! The only thing I cant figure out is how to disable my data connection for good. Before I flashed it, I had set up my connections to NEVER dial #777, and only connect via USB or WIFI. I cant seem to figure out how to do that again. I have even removed the #777 connection from the list. Is there any way to keep it from dialing out? I tried searching, but didnt find too much on the topic. If I dont select a carrier in the BuildOS utility, will my phone still function (I assume no..)?

Thanks, and sorry for the stupid question!

Not stupid, they really bury this function...

Settings\Connections\Connections\Advanced\Select Networks

Change both settings to "My ISP"

I already did that, and it still tries to dial out. There are no connections under "My ISP" either because I deleted the #777 connection. I cant find a way to add the WIFI connection in.

You can always call your carrier and have them disable all data access from your line. Sprint will do it - just email ecare - I did that for my kid's phone (a dumb "vision" flip phone") that has no way to disable vision on the phone.

When you do that, if your phone calls #777 it will always get a "no modem answered" error.

Hm.. I guess Ill have to do that. How come It keeps trying the #777 even after I deleted the profile?

I'm not sure things are set up the same across carriers.

My phone has three options under network management:"My Work Network", "My ISP" and "Verizon Wireless". As long as "Verizon Wireless" is not selected my phone does not dial out. The settings within "My ISP" if you edit it are completely blanked out (i.e. nothing listed under modem).

If I enable wi-fi with those settings apps use the wi-fi for network access.

I think the problem is that the "My ISP" isnt set to use the WIFI if its turned off, so it defaults back to the "Verizon Wireless". Is there any way to put WIFI settings into "My ISP"? I only see dial out type connections.

Unfortunately I don't know of a way to do this (i.e. have the phone automatically turn on wi-fi and search for internet access when a network request occurs). If anyone knows how I'd also be very interested in hearing about it.
