Re: Question About Verizon & XV 6700
Hi. The 6700 does not require you to purchase a Data Plan. You can block it or get it on a pay as you go for 1.5 cents per KB or 45 dollars per month for unlimited usage. The 6700 is at a disadvantage becuase the 6800 on up can use the 30 dollar email and web plan. If he were to wanna do internet the 6800 would be a better phone for him. The pay as you go is the worst route to go. Either get a block or get a plan. Beware though that some reps might tell you that it is required on ALL PDA phones since the 11/14/08 change in policy. Tell them too look it over again, it states that phones released before that date do NOT require it. Hope this helps

Re: Question About Verizon & XV 6700
Also forgot to mention that the difference between the 45 dollar plan and the 30 dollar plan is that with the 45 one you can get a direct push mail account from them, it is not worth it, use MobiPush to push your current e-mail for free. The 30 one is just for native Web and Pop/Imap e-mail apps. They both are the same in speeds, which are pretty fast as well. It is rediculous they don't offer the 30 dollar plan to 6700 customers. It has made many people mad...
You probably aren't interested since you asked if you NEED a plan but I just thought I would give you the run down on why different pricing. |
