Re: Turning the phone off
Since you are new I won't tell you what I tell most noobs with questions like that...welcome to the forums.
Pocket PC phones do not turn all the way off. You can pull the battery out for that... If you don't want to recieve phone calls the hit the phone icon in the Comm Manager. That will turn off the CDMA radio so the phone and text messages / pix messages won't come through till you hit it again to turn on.

Re: Turning the phone off
My friend's 6800 seemed to turn off while we were on vacation... He could hold the power button or something, and then when he'd turn it on again it would go through the whole booting phase again. So I don't think it's quite fair to say that you CAN'T turn off WM devices, maybe just that ours doesn't have that nice feature (or he had something on his phone that let him shut down with a shortcut key) Made me sad that my 6700 won't do that.

Re: Turning the phone off
I and weedahoe both have the 6800, trust me it can't be done. Sometimes things happen which shut the phone off though, mine shook a lot on a ride at a park and when I got off the battery had become disconnected from the pins...

Re: Turning the phone off
My mogul can be turned off by pressing and holding the power button. A confirmation window opens asking confirmation that you want to turn the device off. I did this all the time when I had mine. Is it something Verizon disable?

Re: Turning the phone off
I use psShutXP to reboot by device w/o having to poke the reset button. It also can be used to shutoff the device although I never have tried or needed to for any reason. The PDA portion consumes very little power at all. It is the radio(s) on the device that chew at the battery.
I tried holding the power button on mine BTW just to check because Ive never heard of this and it did nothing for me. IDK if it is something from VZW but I wouldnt put it past them. However, my ROM is custom so that may have something to do with it. IDK. |
