Calendar Reminder

What does it take to get a calendar reminder to stay up untill dismissed or ignored. On all the wm devices and ROMs i've had used dont do this. The notification will pop up and go away. It is only usefull if you look at the phone at the exact time. Often I will hear the notification sound and pull it from my pocket to see no notification at all.

Any Ideas?

I dont have time to thoroughly test, but ill do what i can, the rest ill need you guys to pound out

Way to go J! Will this be compiled ROM's or new Kitchen or both? I am happy to test a Verizon version, or compile 1 in the kitchen.

Let me know also if I should put the intellisync cab in the extROM or install as regular program?

I have a nagging suspicion the lil spb handyswticher is causing issues, as it seems to be 1st thing on the today screen to stop working when these go downhill....

Fitbryan & k000, & others:

Before backing up PIM data for the next kitchen revision, I would look over your notifications not only for duplicates, but also redundant ones.
I read elsewhere to use the "PIM Backup" proggy to backup & restore, so as not to transfer over any garbage data from a bloated "PIM.Vol" file..

You should see the left soft tab on bottom bar saying something like, "notification", or Dismiss", or "reminder"...

Thanks but I use intellisync and have zero duplicates :)

I have one question. In the past I used the generic ROM with my Verizon ExtROM (XV6700). I let the customizations run and it setup my internet connection (#777). The new ROM has the customizations built-in, but I didn't see anything run after I installed the ROM. Also, the #777 connection was not setup after I installed the ROM, I had to setup the connection manually. Is this what is required with the new ROM or an I missing something? Do I need to run the customizations manually, if so where are they located?

THANKS AGAIN for great ROMS and the hard work!!!

This build (even the verizon one for the first time) has a blank extended rom. You will have to manually enter this connection, or run the cab file for it. Look in the cab file sticky for more info.

BTW BigJ - Awesome new for you. I flashed to the NK.nbf from Colonel (date 6/5), and when my 4 pm alarm went off it went to the background and hid. I wasn't able to bring it to the front to dismiss it, and when I called myself from my desk the call bubble came up, but I couldn't answer. The phone didn't actually freeze, but the bubble wouldn't go away until I soft reset.

These are just normal calendar notifications, nothing fancy.

I restored from PIM Backup not activesync.

I had two different issues :

1. My stock alarm proggy did not wake up th phone yesterday

2. Today stock alarm woke up the phone, but without ANY bubble to stop the alarm. As I had the alarm on repeat and it had to be shut up I tried soft resetting, but that did not help. Alarm would still keep going on and on and no - ultimately I had to hard reset the sweetie pie.

I understand what you are saying - But you only get a seccond or 2 to hit the Notification button before it just dissappears. Like the appointment reminder is gone and past. So at that point what good is a reminder that doesnt show?

re: voicemail notifications

I see that J is taking care of the SMS problem. This should take care of the voicemail notification as well. Since the phone isn't processing SMS it doesn't receive the code to notify re: vm.

Other than that, I've had the phone bubble lockup once.

Great ROM though, and great kitchen (my first ever!) Now all I need are OEMs of Pocket Informant and Pocket Breeze so I don't have to set them up every hard reset lol.

That's not expected behavior. It's one of the issues I'm having with some of the recent roms as well, but if you try most of the others it should work as you expect. There is also a link in the sticky "Tips and tricks" thread to a pile of registry entries. If you look in that thread there are some entries that let you customize how these notifications behave.
