I didn't brick it!...... but.......
 

I flashed BigJ's Rom on my phone (love the sonic btw) And I followed the instructions, but now activesync says my phone is PPCGEEK and not the name it was before..... and it won't let me sync my old stuff (contacts, calender) back to the phone......

OMG!!!

What do I do?

I beleive you want to go to Start > Settings > System > About > DeviceID

Change this back to whatever you had it as before and you shouldnt have any sync problems.

I left my phon plugged up on my desk for a while to go help a customer (playing around on ppcgeeks at work lol) and when I came back I noticed my tasks were on the today screen....So i checked my contacts again and they were there!! Yay!!

This means I successfully flashed the rom and everything.... Awesome! I've been reading about these since wideawake was posting stuff about them months ago (i'm a lurker).... but never had the cojones to do it.

I feel worthy of my "geek" title again. From the PC to the PPC.....lol

Something you may want to try is the tutorial for free direct push email. even if you don't want the push email you can have your contacts tasks calender all synced with a server so if on the go you need to hard rest you can get all your stuff back in a min or 2.
