screen orientation button

Is it possible to configure the screen orientation button to just toggle between 2 of the modes rather than cycle through all 3?

there is a program out there that allows you to do that.....dont know the name on top of my head. why are you wanting to do this if i may ask ??

it's a Palm thing...

I was thinking there may be times I want to change the screen orientation manually, rather than by opening up the keyboard

I'd like to do it also. Much rather have landscape be the default.

Here's the deal: orientation on the 6700 is flat out controlled by 2 magnets that act as a switch.

there is no way to "disable" this feature.

the closest I found was in PhoneAlarm, there is an option for "Rotate Screen" on a profile change automatically. BUT, as soon as you use the keyboard and it put it back, it'll return back to portrait.

there is no way to permantely over-ride this feature that I am aware of.

In AE Button Plus, there is an option to map to a hardware key "rotate screen", so that you can do it via any button you like. not perfect, but close (and it still cycles).

check out HandyMenu from dinarsoft--has a function to toggle screen orientation!

Is that why my screen is sometimes rotated when taking it out of the Verizon case with magnets in it? Is this a bad thing for the phone?

To answer your questions:

Yes, and No (the magnet's not strong enough)
