Apache Joystick Button Problem

The joystick button on my Apache is malfunctioning and causing a lot of problems. It responds sporadically to left/right/up/down movements. The "push button" function does not work (there's no "click" anymore) and it seems to be stuck in the "down" position.

So, questions:

1. How do I disable the joystick button functionality? (I went to the Buttons utility and could not figure it out.)

2. Not having ever taken this phone apart, is it worth trying to take it apart to see if the button contacts just need cleaning or freeing up?

Thanks.

Take it apart and pull it off with a pair of needle nose. Fill the whole with some black rubber or something, hot glue it down.

How hard are you guys on your phones? Everyone seems to have their joysticks getting pushed in. I think Hibby said 8 times on his Apaches. I never have had this problem on the 9-10 I have owned. I know my friend's did though and it was causing the device to always think he was hiting enter. The store replaced it with a Mogul and I got a replacment Mogul from him!

I never had that prob with the 4 I owned but I read lots of other threads where others did. I guess they might be laying them down face

Yeah same here. My joysticks were always fine. I used them for a lot of games too...
