Cannot install any Custom rom 3.5 Help please

HI,
I have been trying to install a few of the custom rom's I found on this site. (thanks by the way to all who take the time to make these!)
I am currently running version 2.06 w 1.27 radio. I was able to flash that with no problem.
I have downloaded and attempted to install:
Kirvin 3.5 NoJunk
Colonel's 3.5 final
and the 3.5pr6
None of them will install.
It checks the device info and in the summary it has no specifics. Then after I click "Upgrade" it gives me an error:
"ERROR 150: ROM upgrade utility error"
"This ROM Upgrade Utility does not design for your device. Please get proper Upgrade Utility and try again!"

My unit is a Sprint PPC-6700
Thanks in advance for any advice.

you need to run the NO-ID executable, try using the search feature next time, this question gets asked a lot. Its included in my own ROM as the only file for flashing if you wanna give it a whirl. good luck

This is from Hermi, but if your device is really being mean.

Quote from Hermi:

1. Explore phone with QPST (EFS Explorer)
2. copy file NVM\NVM\nvm_htc
3. Hex edited the string VZW__001, or SPCS_001 or any other operator u currently hv then change the String to SuperCID.

to

4. Copy back the modified file to device (nvm_htc).
5. Done... U will be able to flash any rom and any operator rom u like.

*Note: Please do not attempt this unless you fully understand the instructions.

OK I got it to work.

I really did a search for the error 150 and couldn't find anything so maybe I missed it. But, I did finally get it to work...

I am using Vista primarily and after flashing to the most current offical release with no problem, I did not even think that the 3.5 versions would not work. After a number of attempts I hooked it up to an XP machine and it worked just like everyone makes it out to be so easy.

I don't know why it wouldn't work on my Vista PC but, I have it now. BTW - I did end up using the NO-ID executable

Thanks!

i have had success installing roms on vista by adding this line to the RUU.CONF file - '[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1' (without the quotes). and by using the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe.

Are you in bootloader before you try to flash?
