WM6 Status Pinwheel MUI For WM5
4 Attachment(s)
If you are tired of the old 2d Wm5 Pinwheel give this a shot. Copy the attached mui to the windows root of the device with resco or total commander and then soft reset. It should work. If not flash to Hemli_c latest rom ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks.....10_WWE_R3.rar
Cheers, Mikee |
you forgot to attach the file...
|
ok, what am i missing?

Thx |
Can anyone confirm this works?
|
yep, here it is...
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/4914/picey6.th.png thx for posting Mikee! It's not much different but looks a little more modern/polished... Judge for yourself. FYI... windows root is '/windows' NOT '/' in case that confused anyone else |
Hmmm. I was just liking the YinYang spinner thingy that comes with the latest Colonel ROMs.
http://upload8.postimage.org/511513/pc_capture3.jpg I might have to try this one... The one thing I don't like about the YinYang is that it's circular, but actually has whitespace framing it. |

No MUI...
The file doesn't contain an "MUI" file of any sort. Is there a way to do this change without having to flash a new ROM? I'm very happy with Kirvin's ROM but I would really like this pinwheel. Can someone post the correect file please?
|
The file inside the .zip is a .mui
you unzip and copy it to \Windows on your device.. it'll ask to overright, you say yes and then soft reset. |
Very cool, and it was smaller in size than the one that was there!
|
Sweet!

Adding to a ROM
This can be added into a cooked ROM, saving a bit of RAM, by adding it to the Kitchen's "\WM5 AKU3.5\OEM\gwes.exe.0409.mui" folder
|
See it wasnt just me looking for it mike, 66 people and counting.
|
Hmm.... Anyone can get the Windows Vista pinwheel into their PocketPC?
|
Works great thanks for posting this :)

The default one is "flat" while this one has a sorta 3-D look to it. In other words, it has a bit of shading.
|
weird... i copied the file to the \Windows folder, confirmed to overwrite the original file, soft rebooted and... bam! same old fugly pinwheel.
any suggestions? |

telus rls'd the phone before everyone but released the phone with wm5 with a wm6 upgrade coming in the near future which sucks balls.. they should have waited like everyone else and rls'd the phone with wm6 straight outta the box. - ReDz |
i just grabbed the file and dropped it in /windows .. didn't ask for an overwrite but after a soft reboot the new pinwheel is present.

Hi everybody,
Is it only me that I can't make this work??? The problem is that when I try to copy the file to /windows, i get an error message... aparently the original file is protected... Any ideas??? Thanx |
use total commander (free) or resco file explorer (not so free) Or update to any custom rom built since this post was put up.
using the above programs allows you to overwrite system files. Overwrite and restart. :) |
