my Apache is stuck

am running WM6 and a few days ago i kept getting a screen saying my memory is low. i really dont have much and am also using a 2gig card but i decided to eliminate some stuff anyways. this morning while charging my phone it was OFF so i turned it on and now its stuck in the first screen with the info (not sure if thats what they call Bootloader). i hooked it to my Laptop but it doesnt recognize it, just goes to the same screen.

i dont want to do a hard reset (green+red button+ pinhole i belive) cause i have not saved none of my contacts.

is there anything i could do or at least get my contact out?

Re: my Apache is stuck

That's the boot screen, not bootloader. Bootload on the Apache is a non-backlit screen with serial and the bootloader number. I would suggest a soft reset with the stylus. If that does not work, remove the battery wait about 30 seconds and put the battery back in and power up. If it still sticks on the boot screen, hard reset.

Re: my Apache is stuck

Try bootloader. Power+notes+reset. exit by resetting again. If that doesn't work hard reset. Both softkeys+reset. sounds like something went waaay wrong.

Re: my Apache is stuck

i finally did a hard reset (both buttons above the talk, end call and reset) and it asked if i want to reset to factory, pressed "Y" said all clear. pressed "space" bar to re-boot.

well guess what, It went back to the same screen! ](*,).

now am really lost

Look for a file called uni_exitbootoader.exe as it is supposed to kick you out of BL mode on the 6700

Re: my Apache is stuck

i found the file. i hook my phone up and try to open the file and it cant get it open (get error page after about 5 min.) but if i disconnect my it opens the file right away

not sure if am doing it right or not.

Re: my Apache is stuck

what BL version do you have on that phone and when it is connected to the PC does it read USB or Serial?

Re: my Apache is stuck

Weedahoe, I think that it's stuck on the first splash according to the OP. Wasn't there a solution for that? I'm gonna look because I remember seeing that way back when VerizonGuy's WM6 kitchens were out.

Re: my Apache is stuck

Found something to try, should have thought of it myself.](*,)

Put the phone in bootloader and flash the stock ROM. Something in the flashed ROM is either conflicting, or the memory issues were due to an overfilled ROM in the first flash. If that doesn't fix it, it may be hardware issues and it's now a brick.

Re: my Apache is stuck

Yeah, if it is stuck at the Splash screen then the ROM is too big for the BL version and a new smaller ROM will have to be loaded.

Re: my Apache is stuck

i was busy yesterday, but i'll give that a try this afternoon for sure. i've had WM6 for at least 6 months with no issue, just in the past few days it started acting up.
