HTC 6600 wont connect to wifi.
 

Hey there. Well. I got my HTC 6600 from my dad seeing as he got a newer PDA. So Im trying to to connec to my PDA to the router, And It trys to connect. Appareantly it connects but It doesnt get a IP

Help?

66/6700s only do 802.11b whereas all recent routers do 802.11b/g mixed. Also the 66/67s will only do WEP and not WPA(2) which newers routers use. So log into your router and set it to mixed radio mode or 802.11b if you can and make sure it is set to WEP and you know your key.

Well. The thing here says that it accepts WPA and WPA-PSK. Whats the difference between PSK and 2?

PSK is Pre-shared key and if you are going to use WPA then you will have to also use TKIP as AES will not work. I forgot to mention that.

Okay. Well everything is set up as it should be but It still wont get an IP...

So your router is set up in 802.11b ONLY and you are using WEP encryption right? How many digits is your key? Have you tried to disable WEP on the router and connect on the phone that way? What are the steps you are using to try to conn via WiFi on your phone anyway?

The 6600 does NOT have WiFi. I once got a 6600 for a replacment to my 6700 by mistake and I was gonna keep it for a PDA, but before I bought a battery I read there was no WiFi. So I gave it to a friend who needed a PDA for work but no Internet. He seemed to like it... But back to topic, the 6600 has no WiFi.

Being I didnt have a 66 IDK that so thanks. But now I am really curious and confused on how the OP says he is connected but no IP? Are you using a SD WiFi card or doing something else?
