6700 phone volume

I just upgraded my Sprint 6700 ROM from 1.03 to the 2.06 from Sprint's website. Before the upgrade I could hear people great. After the upgrade I can hardly hear people. Does anyone have any ideas/solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

David :D

Once you hard reset or flash a new ROM, the volume is always a little lower, since the default setting is somewhere in the middle. On your next phone call, use the slider button to increase the volume and you should be good to go!

I have already done that but the volume is still much lower than before.

I am not sure with sprint, but Verizon changed the codec used between cersions 1 and 2. It now uses a compressed audio codec (EVRC) that is not as good as "Voice 13K". To change this in Verizon I dialed ##778, entered my unlock code, and under CDMA settings changed EVRC Enabled to Disabled and the next three entries below to Voice 13k (Home Page", "Home Orig", "Roam Orig"). Hope this helps.

Interesting...I just tried this on a Sprint phone and I think the volume is a little louder...

i'm curious to try this but was wondering wat an unlock code is. I have verizon as well and wouldn't mind the volume being a little higher.

bmtbandit 05-11-2007 01:51 PM

Verizons unlock code is 000000
