Calling all 6700 Geeks What is this cab file? PPST_FILE_VZW_1.12.sa.CAB

Please let me know. I am not sure if its a radio stack patch or what.

It's an update to the PRI (Product Release Instructions) for your phone. It updates the CDMA (phone) chip in your device. Those are carrier-specific so it should only be applied to Verizon devices if that's where you got it from.

No idea what specifically it is changing. It only needs to be installed once, as it will persist through all hard resets.

Where did you get that file from? The latest version of Verizon AKU (2.2) only has Radio version 1.10 installed.

I extracted it from the latest exe from utstarcom. I was hoping the radio was 1.12. But no its still 1.10. Weak!!!

It's not a new radio version. As I said before it's a new PRI revision. If you go into settings->device information after installing it you should see the PRI version 1.12_003.

Well I just installed it and my PRI is still 1.10_002

Even did a soft reset. Now I really don't know what that file is...

Can you pipe it throuhg MSCEInf or Cab Manager and see if there are any reg entries or shortcuts? That might provide a clue. I would look into it since I'm curious but I'm out of time...

Well it's possible that is what you're supposed to have and they just omitted the zeroes in the filename (1.10_002 -> 1.12).

Surest way to tell would be to get someone who hasn't updated to the 4/25/07 Verizon ROM to look at Device Information and report their PRI version.

LOL my PRI is 1.12_002. The last official Verizon ROM I flashed was the one before this (the one that added Device Lock, push email, etc. - I think it's AKU2.2). Probably did a *228 awhile back - doesn't that update the PRI (as well as the PRL)? My radio is 1.10.00.
