Can call by headset only!
 

I have had my 6700 for 2 months now and all of a sudden i cannot make or receive calls without a headset, nor can i listen to music out of the speaker. I know that it is not the speaker because the phone will still ring. When I receive a call, the phone rings but when i answer i can hear nothing and the other party can't hear me. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Take it in for service. At two months old, they should repair or replace it.

Are you using a custom rom, or the latest official rom? also, have you hard-reset it, as they will do it a the shop before they look to repair/replace it.

if you have been using the wired headset the jack is screwed up. unfold a paperclip and seperate the contact lead from inside the jack. this is why I use bluetooth now. $35 repair at the store if not covered.

If you can't hear any sound unless you use the headset, then its probably the plug. Stick your headset jack into it and jiggle it around then remove it until you can hear the typical system sounds.

Once you can hear those sounds, just make a call w/out the headset and it should work just fine. Sometimes the jack gets screwed up and even though you removed the headset the unit still thinks its plugged in and directs all sounds to the port.

Worked for me.

The EXACT SAME thing happened to me a few months back. Morons at Sprint couldn't fix it, so they sent me a 'New' one... Unfortunately, the 'New' had two scratches on the screen, a dent and a crack up top. When I told them to get me one w/o scratches, dents and cracks do you know what they told me?! "Well... The phone and the screen still work, so our company policy is that that's good enough." Sprint is such garbage!
