yep - no different then any other case of PAM use w/o a PAM plan. You are breaking the TOS, and, if caught, you might, worse case, lose PowerVision for good.
Doubtful you'd get caught unless you PAMMED the heck out of your phone for a month, but not impossible. Tread lightly. |
Isn't there a reg setting that determines whether or not the phone reports that it is tethered?

The PPC6700 does not know the difference between tether and pocket internet usage. Sprint goes by the data accumulated throughout the month as a guide to determine if you are tethering. Bit torrent is a big no no on your 6700 but I have tethered every day to my laptop for almost 2 years (started with the 6600, then moved to the 6700) and so far no complaints from their department.
I limit my browsing to what I would normally do on my PDA using opera (so in essence it still appears the same since opera pulls in full bandwith pages). Stay away from torrents, downloads, videos etc and you should be fine. I did have a big bandwith month using orb player. Never got a notice but I got tired of using it and went back to movies on the SD card. |

I use nero recode for my movies sometimes pocket divx.
In regards to downloading torrents. If you're doing it any nothing is said or done then I guess kudos to you. I just posted that you shouldn't do movies, bit torrents or heavy downloads as a precaution. Maybe sprint doesn't really care who is using the service. Maybe they don't know how to tell the difference but generally when i'm doing something against the rules I try to take the "don't bite that hand that feeds you" approach. Keep under the radar so to speak. |
