Louder ringtone issue

Ok fellas here is the thing. I have modded my ppc with the remove mirror method(hole in back). My ringtones still sound weak. Even the ones from this site. A co worker of mine "lost" his 6700 and sprint sent him a new one with the new rom update already in the phone(they don't send refurbs on this phone). The thing is his ring tones are very loud with no hack done..Any ideas?

No clue about this one, I mean the ringtones I cut have the volume enhanced and they are loud on mine. Sooooo when do u have troubles hearing the phone ring? Cuz I always hear mine...

The quality of the recording can have something to do with the volume. The ring tones from here all sound good on my PPC. Bad speaker maybe, could your speaker have gotten wet?

yea the ones i did should be louder than your average ringer.

From Verizon, my original XV6700 was quite soft. The volume for either the ringers or for in call were quite hard to hear. For other reasons, Verizon replaced mine with what I believe was a software update which did improve the volume; even with the basic ringer.
So perhaps the software level is a question. Afterall, these replacements could have been on the shelf for months before they sent them out as replacements. (Mine was loaded in February.)
Check out the Sprint upgrade at the UTStar site. Compare that rev level to yours. Let us know the results.

If this helps any. I have a new ppc-6700 from Sprint with the new ROM and I was about to do the ringer hack but the registry showed the phone already to be at 5 instead of 3.

i use wave pad pro to make my ringtones. i use the free trail version. i don't think that it has an expiration date, because i've had it for a year now, and its fairly easy to use. check it out @:
