Keep it up J!

Jbabey,

Awesome rom. Found the instructions on the same page.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Creating your own customized wait symbol is easy! You just need the freeware Resource Hacker. Then follow these steps:

Create 16 pictures (frames) in BMP format, each one 32x32 pixels or smaller. It doesn't have to be a square. I usually find an animated GIF file, open it up in my graphics program and save each frame as a separate 32x32 BMP file (RGB encoding) or smaller. Close your graphics program.
Copy "gwes.exe.0409.mui" from the Windows directory on your PPC to your PC.
Start Resource Hacker and choose File/Open. Change "Files of Type" to "All Files (*.*)" Open your PC copy of "gwes.exe.0409.mui".
Choose Action/Replace Bitmap.
Here you'll see 16 bitmaps to replace, numbers 1024-1039. One by one, select the bitmap to be replaced, click "Open file with new bitmap," select the bitmaps you created in order, and click Replace.
Choose File/Save.
That's it! You did it--now to put it on your PPC, follow the To Change Symbols Installation instructions.

EDIT found it... that program is like 4 megs ... WOW
I still install this program regardless of it size. It kicks the crap out of the default PIM. It really is great software, but like you said it is huge...

I'm sure youve probly seen this before but the info ON how to do this for those interested in helping out is at http://www.masellis.com/wait/index.htm

Because this is only one file being replaced it could easily be part of your skin pack cabs

On a side note. I have tested the hell of this ROM in the areas I was having problems. I have found that yet again BigJ made a awesome ROM!
I would LOVE to do this, but i have no idea how or what i need to make my own. I see replacements..... no biggy, but if i could make my own... then WAY BIGGY.

if anyone has info on this .. please let me know
Heres an example of one that I made for your sonic theme. Just unzip and copy the file to the windows directory (Use resco file explorer) Then soft reset. Now do something that takes load time and you'll see sonic.

Let me know what you guys think

Edit: (from website)
How to create your own

You just need the freeware Resource Hacker. http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/reshack.zip

1.Create 16 pictures (frames) in BMP format, each one 32x32 pixels or smaller. It doesn't have to be a square. I google an animated GIF file, open it up in a graphics program and save each frame as a separate 32x32 BMP file (RGB encoding) or smaller.

2.Copy "gwes.exe.0409.mui" from the Windows directory on your PPC to your PC.

FYI I used Iconcool to rip the frames and Photoshop cs3 the create the seperate bitmaps.
uber, thanks!...... digs around in his gif archive....

A2DP Question

BigJ,

NOOB question on A2DP. I successfully paired my Sharper Image BT Stereo headset with the phone, but can't get sound thru them. Using the 5/22 version of 1.6, and loving it!

Anything special I need to do?

Thanks

i am not familiar with stereo BT headsets. Sprint only carries one and i havent tested it. did you try the BT toggle program? that should force route all audio to the headset.

J, question. It may be stupidity on my part, or just lack of sleep, but I am trying to find a way to change the backlight settings to always stay on during external power and go to 3 min. on battery. Every time I change them, they go back to the default 1 min. How can I keep them the way I want?

Question 2, how can I keep the system volume all the way up? It always goes back down to about half volume after I change it.

If the answers are somewhere in this thread, I apologize. Thanks.

By the way, after flashing roms like most people change underwear, I have found yours to ne the best for me. Great rom!!!

all that volume garbage is phone alarm. the settings should change if you set them in the phonealarm config. Same w/ the backlight

I believe that all you have to do is have that BT-Audio program running and you should be good to go.

2 questions after getting this rom going. (Very nice, lots of great features by the way).

I have a phone alarm skin I would like to use, but I can't seem to figure out where to install it in this rom. I can see the windows/BigJ is the current skin.
Even though there are others listed in PA they don't seem to exist on the phone. Is there a config file that determines where it's looking for new skins that I need to edit or something?

Also what is the procedure for changing the second image that shows on screen during the boot process after a soft/hard reset (profile of sonic)?
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/splash-scree...ot+screen.html these instructions helped me change the first, but I couldn't find info on the second.
