Well, I am not using that version of the kitchen anymore and it can get a little confusing. However, my understanding is that the nk.nba in the ROM folder is just a "Blank". When you run CreateRom, it is compiling the files and patching them into this .nba. It then creates a new, "patched" nk.nba in the Temp folder.

Guys... THANK YOU for all the hard work you have put into this. You have made the 6700 go from an almost unbearable experience to a 'must-have' necessity in my everyday life.

Got the new ROM flashed and loaded... everything works great except I'm having trouble setting the button assignments for button 5 (originally Notes Recording). When i make a single press assignment and then press it... it goes to the press and hold assignment every time. I have checked the settings in the registry and tried to change them manually (w/ soft reset) and still no luck

...anyone else experience this? Sorry if this has been covered.

Yeah I have the same problem. I've ended up just putting none on the press and voice command on the press-and-hold and it works the way I want it to. Never really used that notes recording myself so this is a decent solution for me. Other than that I agree, once we get the BT patch to fix up the turning on and off of the device, I will have a perfect XV6700. Thanks everyone!

See Big J's ROM. He fixed the BT and its working great with VC.

We've heard a lot about the new ROM kitchen... any news on when it's going to be released?
I'm considering creating a new ROM, but if the new kitchen will be out in the next week, I'll wait.

it's been released for about a month now

I beleive he's reffering to the one that Helmi_c has alluded to, and there is yet to be any type of ETA release for that. The best thing you can do to speed along its release, is to flash Helmi_c test ROM and give feedback in regards to bugs etc.

I know I am anxiously awaiting this platform as well.

Just wanted to post a thanks to all involved in making this. I found this to be a simple and EZ process with a step by step walk through designed for those interested in putting in the time. I still have a long way to go to utilize all of this properly but thanks again to those involved in refining the process.

What a lot of cool stuff here, I just joined the forum and have been reading a lot of posts. I have a couple of questions for someone that I need answered before I can attempt to change my ppc6700. One I don't think I saw anyone with an Alltel PPC6700 here just Sprint or Verizon?. Second, I run Vista Ultimate on my PC will I have to find an XP box to do these upgrades? And last how do I do ICS because setting the phone as a modem no longer works and I can't seem to find any modem drivers for Vista and I do use the tethering feature from time to time. :? I wish i felt a little more confident on these things.

there are people on here that have alltel but most don't admit it. you should be fine with most roms unless they specify a carrier in the description.

vista will take some tinkering to use. there are drivers you have to download. if you look in the apache thread it should be labeled vista drivers a few pages forward (2 or 3 I think.) if u don't find it.. do a google search for "usba.zip".

and most new roms have fixed the vista tethering problem :)

hope that helps
