How to launch settings app with no start menu link ?
This weekend my phone latched up, wouldn't complete the boot sequence. I wound up hard resetting it back to my custom kitchen that has been running just fine for months (it's been so long since I messed with it I don't remember which one it's based on).
Did a sync to recover my contacts & data, but many settings were wrong so I started redoing them. Apparently I have completely buggered something up, because now when I hit start, there's only a couple items on the start menu, and no link for 'Settings'. When I navigate to Windows\Start Menu the Settings folder is empty. How can I launch the settings app so I can reconfigure the Today screen ? Thanks! |

That folder is always empty when you access it via file explore. However you could try this program I extracted out of WisBar Advanced. Just extract it out of this zip then drag it to device then launch in File Explore.

Thanks! That at least lets me get back to the settings. I still don't understand how the start menu got so screwed up, but at least I can work around it for now.

Why not hard reset again and the resync?

Yeah. But if you don't want to hardreset then just put that file in \Windows\Start Menu, but make sure you only have 6 shourtcuts there.
